This Website, www.southwestkeys.co.uk, is operated by Charlie Chandler, trading as South West Keys ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing this Website or booking any of our services, you agree to the terms below. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use our Website or services.

1. Legal Entity

South West Keys is a sole trader business operated by:
Charlie Chandler T/A South West Keys
Registered and trading in the United Kingdom.

2. Website Use

  • All content on this Website is for general information only and may change without notice.

  • We are not liable for any inaccuracies or reliance placed on this information.

  • You may not reproduce or exploit any part of this Website without express permission.

  • This Website may include links to third-party sites for your convenience; we do not endorse or accept responsibility for their content.

3. Booking Appointments

  • Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or via email and are subject to availability.

  • A callout fee and/or mileage charge may apply and will be confirmed at the time of booking.

  • Customers must give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may result in a charge.

  • We reserve the right to decline bookings at our discretion.

4. Lockout Services

  • Customers must present photo ID and proof of vehicle ownership before vehicle access is attempted.

  • We reserve the right to decline service if ownership cannot be verified.

  • Non-destructive entry methods will be used wherever possible. However:

    • In some cases, minor cosmetic damage may occur, especially with older or more complex locks.

    • South West Keys accepts no liability for such damage unless caused by gross negligence.

Callout Charges:

  • A £25 surcharge applies for emergency or out-of-hours callouts (outside Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm).

  • For locations within 25 miles (by road) of Dawlish, Devon, no mileage fee applies.

  • For locations beyond 25 miles (by road) from either Dawlish or the current location of the nearest available technician (whichever is closer to the customer):

    • The first 25 miles are included free.

    • Each additional mile is charged at £1.50 per mile.

  • Mileage is calculated based on the shortest reasonable driving route.

5. Replacement Key Services

  • All key replacement services require vehicle ownership verification.

  • Prices are based on make, model, year, and key type, and will be confirmed before the job starts.

  • You are responsible for providing correct vehicle information. Errors may lead to additional costs or cancellation.

  • South West Keys is not liable for losses resulting from inaccurate customer-provided information.

6. Warranty

  • We offer a 12-month warranty on new keys supplied and programmed by South West Keys.

  • This warranty covers manufacturing defects only.

  • The warranty does not cover:

    • Keys used for business or commercial purposes.

    • Accidental, water, or physical damage.

    • Battery wear, general wear and tear, misuse, or improper storage.

  • The warranty is non-transferable and valid from the date of purchase.

  • Claims must be accompanied by the original proof of purchase.

7. Payments

  • Full payment is due upon completion of the service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Accepted payment methods include: cash, card, and authorised digital payment systems.

  • Late or non-payment may incur interest and administrative fees.

  • Callout and mileage charges will be confirmed prior to attending and must be paid in full, regardless of service outcome (e.g. if access is refused due to lack of proof of ownership).

8. Limitation of Liability

  • We are not liable for:

    • Delays caused by traffic, weather, or unforeseen events.

    • Losses due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.

    • Any indirect or consequential loss (e.g. missed work, appointments, or income).

  • Our liability is strictly limited to the cost of the service provided.

9. Privacy Policy

  • We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect and handle your data.

10. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. The most recent version will always be available on this Website.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
